About us
Vajra Sol is based in Costa Rica where our retreats are run which allows us to work closely with our partners such as hotel owners and other tour operators. We therefore are able to ensure that the standards of quality are maintained by regularly visiting the locations as well as to research for customized itineraries for clients.
Our yoga instructors are highly skilled in their teaching techniques and experienced in leading a class with diverse levels of yoga. They have a committed personal practice and regularly participate in training workshops to continually evolve and advance their studies and teachings. They will guide you on a personal exploration on your yoga mat and link how to use your practice to better aspects on your life path. They are impassioned about what they do from their devotion to a yoga practice to their love for the outdoors. They are personable, professional and are committed to providing you with a memorable vacation that will leave you elated, inspired and most probably wanting to return for more!
The Beginnings
A few years ago, while on a sabbatical from her previous career job, an idea was ignited that serendipitously led Sandra Tedeschi to change her path. In 2005, beginning a new venture, she founded Vajra Sol Yoga Adventures.
Prior to settling in Costa Rica, Sandra worked several years in South Asia, Africa and U.S. cities in the humanitarian aid field. From her experiences working in often high paced and pressured work environments she learned the great value of a regular yoga practice to maintain balance in daily living. She received a university degree in Foreign Language and International Trade and a Masters in International Public Health and Development.
Sandra has been practicing yoga for over 14 years and teaches a Vinyasa Flow style with influences from Anusara yoga which she currently studies. She received her advanced teacher training in Interdisciplinary Yoga from the Nosara Yoga Institute and is certified with the internationally recognized Yoga Alliance. In her classes she creates a welcoming and nurturing environment with a focus on the balance between the playfulness and intensity of the practice. She greatly values the magical, calming and soul-shifting experience of practicing yoga immersed in the surroundings of Nature.
Sandra is an aficionada of travel to far off places and of many outdoor activities including river running, sea kayaking, trekking, rock climbing, mountain biking and is currently having a great time learning to surf. She has traveled extensively throughout Costa Rica since she first lived there in 1993 when she worked as an adventure guide. She has a great affinity for the natural beauty of the country which she loves to share with those who join our retreats.
