With almost a thousand yoga-inspired travelers who have journeyed on retreats, it remains their intention is to be small scale and personal.

A Message from Us on Community

As we become more independent individuals, we increasingly need community. On our retreats we connect yoga inspired travelers, soul seekers, adventurers, the less intrepid to the world explorer.

Over the years Vajra Sol has become a circle of friends fortuitously brought together by the common thread of Yoga. The circle continues to grow as people find their way to yoga and seek out a more conscious, meaningful, and connected way to travel and live.

We invite you to be part of our ever-growing community that travels and practices yoga together.

Vajra [VAHJ – rah] is the Sanskrit word for eternal strength and spiritual power.
Sol [sohl] means sun in Spanish and is the source of all life, the Supreme Light.

“Respond to every call that excites your spirit."
~ Rumi

Vajra Sol Founder
Sandra Tedeschi

While on a sabbatical from her previous career, an idea was ignited that serendipitously led Sandra to change her path. In 2005, beginning a new venture, she founded Vajra Sol.

Prior to settling in Costa Rica, Sandra worked in South Asia, Africa, and the U.S. in the humanitarian aid field. From her experiences working in high-paced and high-stress work environments, she learned the value of a regular yoga practice to maintain balance in daily living. She has a degree in Foreign Language and International Trade and a Masters in International Public Health and Development.

Sandra has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaches a Vinyasa Flow style with influences from other types of yoga and esteemed teachers that she has studied with over the years. She received her advanced teachers training in Interdisciplinary Yoga from the Nosara Yoga Institute, completed the Anusara teacher training courses, and is certified with the internationally recognized Yoga Alliance. She currently studies under the Himalayan and Tantric traditions. In her classes she creates a welcoming and nurturing environment, focusing on the balance between playfulness, challenge, and devotion to the practice. She teaches for all levels in her classes and on retreats, from the beginner to the seasoned yoga practitioner.

Sandra approaches her practice and the philosophy of yoga as a deeply-rooted part of her every day. She is dedicated to facilitating a memorable and soulful getaway for those who seek a break from their daily routine and to gain deeper insight into where they are on their life path.

trip advisor

“My husband and I recently returned from Vajra Sol’s trip to Peru. Sandra led such an amazing retreat and it was obvious from the start. Everything was taken care of from the moment we touched down in Cusco until our return back to the airport. We are already looking forward to joining her on a future retreat!”

Vera, New York

“This was my 5th time with Vajra Sol and I loved every moment of it. Sandra is over accommodating to your needs. The scene and location of your villa and yoga experience is out of this world. Trust me, this is the best retreat out there for YOGA, SUPING and Surfing.”

Steve P, Conneticut

“Go on one of Vajra Sol’s retreats; you won’t regret it. You may even
conquer some fears and surprise yourself, like I did. You will make new friends and have memories to last a lifetime! This was a life changing experience for me!”
