What is the yoga like?
The retreat leader and yoga teacher is Sandra Tedeschi. The 2-hr morning classes will be a mix of conditioning movements and vinyasa flow to enliven one’s energy, enhance flexibility and mobility, and build strength. Classes are structured so that participants may learn and advance their practice. Each class is specifically sequenced around a theme based in the Hatha and Tantra traditions.
Afternoon classes will be restorative yoga, meditation, breathwork, and other non-asana practices.
All levels of yoga experience are welcome, from beginners to more seasoned practitioners, to those who are in the professed “I-am-so-out-of-practice” state. The precept is: Come as you are. Start where you are.
Can special dietary needs be accommodated?
The retreat ranch chefs are happy to accommodate special dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten/dairy-free, allergies, etc). You can note this in your reservation form when you book. They will make sure there is always something delicious for you at each meal.

What can I expect with the weather?
People flock to Steamboat Springs for its mild winters. Although the area gets around 300 inches of snow a year, there are more bluebird days than anywhere else. March temperatures on average will warm up to the mid-30s to low/mid 40s with the sun shining on the fresh snow. The amazing part about winter is that it is really pleasant to be outside in this weather. This isn’t your bone-chilling New England kind of winter!
What are the health-safety & COVID-19 protocols while on retreat?
The following health-safety protocols and procedures are subject to change.
Vajra Sol retreats are offered and facilitated under the primary premise that the overall well-being of all guests is priority.
If prior to arrival, a retreat participant feels ill, has a fever, or has been around someone who has symptoms flu-like symptoms, they are asked to stay home and not travel to the retreat. Travel insurance is highly recommended as the nature of Covid-19 is unpredictable.
While on retreat we ask that everyone takes care of sanitary practices and respect each other’s personal space. At the same time, we want to create a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
From our Retreat Lodge Hosts
We want to assure you that our number one priority is the health and safety of our guests and staff. Please review this information to better understand what you can expect as you join us at the ranch this coming winter. Understandably, restrictions will be adjusted as county and state guidelines change.
Arrivals and Departures
We will ask guests to complete as much arrival information prior to arrival so the check-in process is as short as possible. Please help us by filling out forms as requested ahead of time.
Guests will receive their final bill via email prior to departure, so it will not be necessary to visit the Front Desk to complete your check-out.
High touch areas of guest vehicles will be sanitized if Ranch Hands are assisting in loading the vehicle prior to departure.
The frequency of cleaning the facilities used by all has been increased to three times a day and the level of sanitation has been enhanced as well.
Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the property.
The guest count will be limited in order to allow for more social distancing in public spaces and during activities while allowing our staff to spend more time cleaning and sanitizing.
Our turnover cleaning protocols have been enhanced to better sanitize accommodations in between guests. Decorative bedding and pillows have been removed.
Guides will carry either hand sanitizing wipes or gel on guided trips.
We ask that guests wear masks when inside public areas. Masks may be removed when seated at the table for meals.
Transportation for arrivals and departures will be assigned one party per vehicle. Guests and the driver will be asked to wear masks while in the vehicle.
The health of our staff is being carefully monitored. Any team member that shows symptoms of Covid-19 will be quarantined.
Any guests who show symptoms of Covid-19 we will be asked to quarantine in their accommodation, and meals will be delivered.
To ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests table spacing has been adjusted to allow for more space in between tables and/or parties.
Guests will be asked upon arrival to share their comfort level regarding dining with others.
For parties who prefer to sit alone at meals, we will place a reserved sign at a table with their name on it at each meal. Please respect the desire of these guests to dine privately.
For parties who choose to dine with others, tables will be open and available.
A few staff members will have the opportunity to join you at several meals throughout the week. Our staff is aware that a reserved sign indicates guests who prefer to dine with just their party.
Tables are limited to 8 or fewer guests and larger tables are not an option at this time.
For meals served in the dining room, we ask that if all tables are full when you arrive to please wait for a table to finish, be cleared, sanitized, and reset before you proceed to breakfast.
Staff will dine separately from guests to allow for social distancing during mealtimes. Our staff dining area has been expanded so the staff is able to spread out during mealtimes.
Programs will be limited to the CDC, State, and local government guidelines. This includes wine tasting, cooking class, photography workshop, and yoga.
A hiking, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and snowshoeing option will always exist to depart right from the ranch. For guests choosing to go off-ranch in a vehicle for these activities, they will potentially be in a vehicle with other guests, and all will be required to wear a face mask.
Social distancing will be practiced with all guided activities as best possible and not at the expense of safety for either the guide or guests. Masks will be required when participants are within 6 feet of each other or requested by either the guide or guest.
What is the group size for the retreat?
The retreat is limited to 16 persons to maintain general comfort for group travel and to allow for personalized attention to each participant. This retreat is designed for the yoga-inspired traveler who appreciates finely curated travel experiences with a small group of like-minded people. We take care of all the planning. You only need to book your plane ticket and pack your bags. Solo travelers are very welcome!
The minimum group size to run a retreat is eight persons.
What is the payment and cancellation policy?
A completed reservation form and a 50% deposit of the total retreat price confirm a booking. Full payment is due by January 25, 2021. Should you need to cancel your reservation before the full payment due date you will receive a refund for payment made less $250.
Should you need to cancel after the final payment date, for whatever reason we will not be able to provide a refund or credit unless a replacement is found.
If force majeure (e.g. pandemic, natural disaster, government travel restrictions, etc.) causes a retreat to be canceled we will offer alternative dates to reschedule the retreat within one year. In this case, there is no refund of payments when a retreat cannot be held due to causes beyond our control.
In the unlikely event Vajra Sol needs to cancel the retreat a full refund of payment made will be given. Vajra Sol will not be held liable for any expenses incurred by the participant for a retreat canceled either by the participant or by Vajra Sol. No refunds are provided for arriving late or departing the retreat early, for activities or meals in which one does not participate.
Should I buy trip insurance for the retreat?
Purchasing trip insurance is strongly recommended for coverage of any unplanned changes that may occur before or during your trip, such as trip cancelation, delayed flights, lost luggage, emergency medical assistance, and more.
Colorado Yoga Retreat winter packing list

To receive the complete retreat details, ask questions, or check on availability.
Every detail was taken care of – Great combination of yoga, touring, wonderful food and accommodations and plenty of extras! First trip and likely not the last!
The planning for our adventures was exhaustive & flawless while the yoga was threaded into every moment. Sandra teaches that yoga is not just about the asana or what you do on your mat. It’s a way of life worth living with others. As for the accommodations, food & service – everything was top notch.
Christina, Labrador, Canada
This was my third retreat with Sandra, I have been to Costa Rica twice and enjoyed my retreats so much there. I again traveled solo to this retreat and felt safe and confident the entire time. If you’re looking for a superbly organized adventure, mixed with spirituality and fun then do yourself a favour and go on retreat with Vajra Sol!
