On a pristine beach lined by wild jungle and gifted with mesmerizing sunsets is the setting of our Costa Rica Yoga Retreat. Delve into your yoga practice and learn to surf or stand up paddle (SUP) in the warm ocean on the Nicoya Peninsula.
Vajra Sol’s Costa Rica yoga retreat is located in the colorful town of Santa Teresa, rated one of the top 10 beach destinations in Central America on TripAdvisor. Santa Teresa is known for its beautiful scenery and great year-round surf. Due to its relative remoteness, the area has been protected from over-development and maintains an off-the-beaten-path feel. It is ideal for those seeking a more secluded escape into nature and one of the best yoga retreats on the beach.

The surf spot is a long beach break with a sandy and shallow bottom that is perfect for learning. For personalized attention, there are no more than three students per instructor.
Stand Up Paddling (SUP) is for those who like to be active and out on the water in a guided tour. The SUP Yoga Retreat includes three half-day outings to different locations around Santa Teresa with breath-taking views along the Nicoya Peninsula. The SUP spots include paddling along an estuary through mangroves and out in the ocean.
The Pure Yoga option on the Costa Rica retreat is perfect for those wanting a deeper immersion into their personal practice. Each day includes a 1.5-hour morning and afternoon yoga class. The Yoga classes are creative and dynamic and inclusive of all levels of experience. The primary type of yoga practiced is Vinyasa Flow.

The rainy season, or green season, is from May to early November. June through August and November is when there is typically less rain and a second high season for visiting Costa Rica. This is also a great time to visit with the landscape being vibrantly green and lush! Temperatures are similar to the summer months.
We only offer our retreats at the most favorable times of the year.

“After only 6 days, I was surprised by how I felt both stronger from surfing and a consistent yoga practice, and relaxed and renewed. I am already recommending Vajra Sol to friends and family, and intend to return for another week in paradise.”
- Elizabeth, San Francisco
“This was my third retreat with Vajra Sol and it just keeps getting better. It truly is an adventure: from your trip to Santa Teresa through the jungle, to surfing in the warm waters of the Pacific on the most stunning beach, to the outdoor yoga sessions surrounded by the sounds of Costa Rican wildlife in the distance…there’s really nothing else like it.”
- Greta, Ontario
“I can’t say enough about Sandra and her attentiveness to each of us; she has a very special gift. I came on the retreat looking to put some things in the past and begin anew; I left with a true sense of renewal and I haven’t stopped smiling since I got back. Pura Vida & Namaste!
