Costa Rica

Yoga | Surf | Stand Up Paddle

Our Santa Teresa, Costa Rica yoga retreat unfolds on a pristine beach that is lined by wild jungle and gifted with mesmerizing sunsets. Dive into your yoga practice and learn to surf or stand up paddle (SUP) in the warm ocean of the Nicoya Peninsula.

Our Costa Rica yoga retreat is located in the colorful town of Santa Teresa, rated one of the top 10 beach destinations in Central America on TripAdvisor. Santa Teresa is known for its beautiful scenery and great year-round surf. Due to its relative remoteness, the area has been protected from over-development and maintains an off-the-beaten-path feel. It is ideal for those seeking a more secluded escape into nature and one of the best yoga retreats on the beach.

Retreat Venue in Santa Teresa

After offering yoga, surfing, and SUP retreats in Costa Rica for more than 10 years, starting in 2020 we began hosting our Santa Teresa yoga retreat at a new venue. It is the same simple luxury style in a jungle beach setting and has a more intimate ambiance and phenomenal ocean views. It is located in the quieter northern area of Santa Teresa and is a short walk to the beach.

Tourism is a vital part of the Costa Rican economy. The Costa Rican government has reviewed with extreme diligence the health-safety scenarios with regards to the pandemic and opening its borders for tourists. They have done a stellar job at handling the pandemic in Costa Rica. Many tourists have visited and enjoyed their holiday since the borders opened in November 2020.

“After only 6 days, I was surprised by how I felt both stronger from surfing and a consistent yoga practice, and relaxed and renewed. I am already recommending Vajra Sol to friends and family, and intend to return for another week in paradise.”

- Elizabeth, San Francisco

“This was my third retreat with Vajra Sol and it just keeps getting better. It truly is an adventure: from your trip to Santa Teresa through the jungle, to surfing in the warm waters of the Pacific on the most stunning beach, to the outdoor yoga sessions surrounded by the sounds of Costa Rican wildlife in the distance…there’s really nothing else like it.”

- Greta, Ontario

“I can’t say enough about Sandra and her attentiveness to each of us; she has a very special gift. I came on the retreat looking to put some things in the past and begin anew; I left with a true sense of renewal and I haven’t stopped smiling since I got back. Pura Vida & Namaste!
